Webster Police release Department’s 2017 Annual Report

As reported on the Town of Webster website today, the Webster Police Department has released their 2017 Annual Report.    The 35 page document outlines everything from the personnel roster and org chart, to the department expenditures and revenues, as well as statistical information such as how many calls and for what type of crimes.    Some notable observations:

  • Calls for Service were down nearly 15% from 2016
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents were down nearly 7% from 2016
  • Police issued around 800 fewer traffic tickets, around 40% less than in 2016

There is also a “Commendations Section”, where Chief of Police Joe Rieger recognizes the Officers of the Year and other awards earned for outstanding achievements throughout the year:

  • Officers of the year: Sergeant Michael Wilder, Officer Samuel States, Officer Katie Hillyard and Officer Samuel Coolidge
  • Excellent Police Service Award:  Sergeant Carl Adriaansen
  • Chief’s Letter of Commendation: Officer Adam Engel, Officer David Herrle

All in all, it’s a very interesting read and can certainly help anyone appreciate the work of the brave men and women who serve and protect our great Town and Community!
